Hello, my name is Kim Busbea and I am the creator of Miracle in a Manger! A fun, and interactive new Christian Christmas tradition. I am so excited to share this with you and families all across the world. So let me start by asking you - what is the true meaning of Christmas? Unfortunately, people are losing focus on the real reason for the season.
Several years ago someone told me about the Manger Tradition where they placed a manger under the tree. I really loved the idea because I saw how it could impact children and help them understand the real reason we celebrate Christmas. Over the years I have thought about how I wanted to take this idea and make it into something that would be interactive and fun for the whole family while still staying meaningful to help people truly learn and remember what the true meaning of Christmas is: a celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Not only is Miracle in a Manger fun for children, but it teaches children in a way that they can carry what they learn throughout the year and hopefully throughout their life.
Miracle in a Manger is similar to Elf on a Shelf but has a Christian base. On the morning of December 1st your child will receive an Angel Doll, an empty manger and an Angel Message Card. The Angel has come to spread God’s message just like the Angels in the Christmas story. On The Angel Message Card will be a verse from the Bible that corresponds with the story of the birth of Christ and a list of Gifts for God Activities. These activities will be different acts of service, random acts of kindness, and gifts of time. If the child does one (or even all!) of the activities listed, the next morning the Angel will bring a new message and a soft strand of hay for the child to place in the manger. Placing the hay will encourage the child to actively participate in the listed activities as they watch the manger fill. Then on Christmas morning when they wake up they will find not only their material Christmas presents but the best gift of all - the TRUE Meaning of Christmas! The doll that was an Angel is transformed into baby Jesus by removing his halo and wings, wrapping him in a blanket, and placing him in the manger full of hay. This will not only be exciting for the child but will leave a lasting impression of why we really celebrate Christmas, the birth of our Lord and Savior.
